SAHAJ PATH: Project on Primary Education

Under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, education for children for 6 to 14 years of age or up to Class 8 has been made free by the government. In recent decades India has made significant progress on access to schooling and enrollment rates in primary education but, dropout rates and low levels of learning remain challenges for the state and central governments. Primary school enrollment in India has been a success story, largely due to various programs and drives to increase enrollment even in remote areas. The RTE Act guarantees a quality education to a wider range of students than ever before. However, failure to meet the challenges in implementing and monitoring high standards in teaching and learning outcomes across regional, cultural and socioeconomic subsets keeps  India far  from  achieving this goal. SUCHARU: Project for Income Generation of Women

Around 80 needy women are getting support of this project by doing hand embroidery and machine works. Our objective to empower women through creating avenues of earning finds support from the beneficiaries when they say that they find joy and independence in spending their own earned money for their education, for their children or for their own necessities without asking from others. This is a small leap forward.  Sucharu is enriched with varieties of products like sari, blouse piece, ladies and gent’s kurtas, hand embroidered dress materials, hankies, cushion covers and very attractive fancy ladies hand bags which are appreciated by people. PARASPAR :Project to Help One Another

Throughout the year we have been receiving enthusiastic response from our friends and well wishers in donating their old but clean usable clothes for distribution among those who need most. Post collection process is lengthy and laborious too. Collected stuffs undergo screening to separate the usable and unusable. The clean and wearable clothes after size and gender wise sorting   packed in large poly bags. Then those are sent to identified areas/ organisation as per requirement. Read more…

Alor Pothe: Adult Literacy Program

Adult literacy program Alor Pathe started with a view “to educate a woman is to educate a family”. We arranged for a three days’ free training with the State Resource Centre for Adult Education. A project on adult education was conducted with female inhabitants mainly the mothers of the children of Sahaj Path of Basanti Devi Colony with a trained teacher. Read more….
